Description
This study briefly describes the measurement of CT images and HU values of liquid scintillation detector solutions mixed with contrast agents using acetone as a solution. To date, scintillation detectors were composed of liquid scintillation detector solutions, but most high-energy scintillation detectors use various substances such as PPO or POPOP mixed with LAB. Because these scintillation detectors have various advantages, there are widely used in various fields such as high energy physics and medical physics.
In this study, a new type of liquid scintillation detection solution was prepared by mixing acetone as a solvent and adding a Contrast agent. CT images were used as medical devices for various analyses, and the HU values of CT images were measured by containing a mixture of acetone-based liquid scintillation detection solution, PPO and Contrast agent.
Finally, we attempted to use the new liquid scintillation detection solution using Contrast agent in various ways by analyzing CT images and HU values. The acetone-based liquid scintillation detection solution mixed with Contrast agent is expected to be a new liquid scintillator with potential applicators in future radiation dosimetry and radiation shielding, and in imaging analysis with fluorescent substances.
