Description
The RENE (Reactor Experiment for Neutrinos and Exotics) experiment aims to search sterile neutrino oscillation around Δm₄₁² ~ 2 eV² . As a short-baseline reactor neutrino experiment, a RENE prototype detector is to be positioned in the tendon gallery of the Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant in Yeounggwang, about 24 meters from the reactor core.
A veto detector, consisting of 15 plastic scintillators, is installed in the exterior region of the RENE prototype detector and excludes background signals primarily induced by cosmic muons. In this poster, the status of the RENE prototype veto detector will be presented.
