Description
The Reactor Experiment for Neutrinos and Exotics (RENE) aims to search for sterile neutrinos by measuring neutrino oscillations at a short baseline of ~24 meters from the reactor core at the Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant in Yeonggwang, Korea. The detector consists of a target region filled with liquid scintillator containing 0.5% gadolinium (Gd-LS) and a surrounding gamma catcher filled with liquid scintillator. Neutrino interactions are detected using two 20-inch PMTs. In this poster, experimental results are compared with latest MC simulation based on RENE updated detector geometry. Detector’s performance and capability will be briefly reviewed. Computing system supporting data handling for RENE is also presented.
