Description

The Neutrino Elastic-scattering Observation with NaI(Tl) (NEON) experiment is designed to detect CEνNS using reactor electron antineutrinos. The NEON detector, consisting of an array of six ultra-high-light-yield NaI(Tl) crystals with a total mass of 16.7 kg, is located in the tendon gallery of Unit 6 at the Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant in Yeonggwang, South Korea, positioned 23.7 meters from the reactor core.

The detector achieves an average light yield of 25.6 photoelectrons/keV, supporting the sensitivity required to investigate low-energy neutrino interactions. Since operations began in April 2022, the experiment has maintained stable data acquisition, accumulating approximately 906 days of reactor-on and 303 days of reactor-off data.

In this presentation, we provide a comprehensive overview of the NEON experiment, covering the detector design, background modeling, and the current status of our low-energy analysis framework.
