Description
The Tokai to Hyper-Kamiokande (T2HKK) experiment aims to discover leptonic CP violation (CPV). There is a proposal for an additional neutrino detector to substantially improve CPV search sensitivity on a longer baseline at an underground site in Korea, the ground-based Korea Neutrino Observatory (gKNO). We propose an alternative megaton-scale deep-sea underwater Cherenkov detector on the east shore of Korea, which we denote as the seabed Korea Neutrino Observatory (sKNO). The candidate sites in the ocean have baselines of 750–950 km and beam Off-Axis-Angle (OAA) of 1.0°–3.0°. The sKNO detector significantly improves the CP phase measurement sensitivity and the rejection power of wrong neutrino mass ordering. In this presentation, we will discuss details of the physics potential of the sKNO experiment.
